(1924-1994) Zeinab Khalil was born is a small country town and soon moved with her family to Cairo. In the 1940s she danced at Badia Masabni's Casino Opera where she was also trained in Ballet, Jazz Tap, Contemporary and Modern Dance. Samia appeared in numerous films - often with Farid al Atrache. Their relationship ended when he said that as Druz prince he would shame his people by marrying a dancer. She continued to dance publicly until she was 70. |
