Nadia Gamal was born in Alexandria to Italian and Greek parents but moved to Lebanon as a dancer. She received her orientale dance training at the Casino Opera and debuted at 14 years old due to the illness of another. She also studied classical ballet, modern dance, acrobatics, jazz and tap and spoke seven languages.
Arabesque ran a series of articles on her in 1975-6
She was also credited as the first dancer to perform zar within an Oriental choreography.
